US Vice President Harris makes history at UN women’s conference

The first female US vice president, Kamala Harris, has made history by giving her first speech at the United Nations 65th Session on the Commission on the Status of Women.
But setbacks caused by the pandemic have cast a shadow over the event.
The new US administration has promised to carry the flag for women at the UN - restoring funding for women’s sexual and reproductive health, which was cut by the Trump administration.
