This is the first of regular briefings from the new White House COVID-19 Response Team as part of the Biden Administration’s commitment to providing regular information sharing around pandemic response efforts and coronavirus developments. In his remarks yesterday, Pres. Biden announced that his administration has purchased 200 million more COVID-19 vaccine doses, adding that the U.S, will have enough doses to vaccine almost the entire country by the end of the summer. ‘We now have a national strategy to beat COVID-19,’ Biden said. ‘It’s comprehensive. It’s based on science, not politics. It’s based on truth, not denial, and it is detailed.’

Throughout 2020, Pres. Trump held semi-regular task force briefings that were full of mistruths, theories, and vague information. He abruptly stopped holding them as frequently after suggesting that people inject bleach into their bodies to fight off the virus.
