White House shrugs off concerns over Kushner's 'secret line' with Russia
HR McMaster, the US national security adviser, says he is not worried by reports that US President Donald Trump's son-in-law had tried to set up a secret communication line with Russia.
The Washington Post says Jared Kushner, who is currently a senior adviser to Trump, was hoping to shield pre-inauguration discussions from US monitoring.
The reports came amid an investigation over the Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Moscow that could have played a part in his election victory.
