WHO experts have warned that booster shots alone will not be enough to combat the spread of Covid-19. The WHO Technical Advisory Group on Covid-19 Vaccine Composition said that current vaccine strategies were not sustainable, adding that new vaccines would be required as the coronavirus continues to mutate. It comes as the WHO predicted that over half of Europe could become infected with the Omicron variant within the next two months. However, the European Medicine Agency says that Omicron’s lower hospitalisation rates could signal the beginning of the end of the pandemic as Covid-19 becomes endemic.
