Why popping your pimples is bad for you

Admit it, you love to pop those little pimples when they form on your face. But it turns out that might not be a wise move.

On this episode of the Facebook series "Science the $#!* out of it," Joe Avella and Jessica Orwig talk about what pimples are, how they form, and how you should treat them.

Acne is the most common skin disease and approximately 80% of Americans experience it some time before they turn 31. But simply popping pimples with your fingers is not the solution. This introduces more bacteria to the already infected pores, which generally only makes the skin condition worse. On top of that, if you continue to pop pimples, you might end up with permanent scars.
