Will Australia end celibacy in the Catholic Church

After the results of a five-year inquiry into sexual abuse of children in Australia, results have found that the abuse was most rampant in the Catholic Church. The report recommends ending the requirement for celibacy for clergy, but it remains to be seen if that will happen.

A five-year inquiry into the sexual abuse of children in Australia has called for sweeping changes to be made, including recommending an end to mandatory celibacy in the Catholic Church.
The Australian Royal Commission estimates tens of thousands of children have been abused in Australian institutions over the last 90 years.
It is still not clear if this recommendation to end celibacy will be followed through by the Australian government.
