World leaders have expressed concern about the unprecedented violence and vandalism seen at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. Radical supporters of US President Donald Trump breached the legislative complex, smashing windows and occupying areas normally off-limits to the public and forcing lawmakers to flee. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called the scenes “disgraceful” while Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, called himself “close to the Republican incumbent Trump” and said there were “a lot of reports of fraud” in regarding the election that handed the presidency to Democratic challenger Joe Biden.
