The chief of the United Nations in Yemen says the Saudi-led coalition fighting Houthi rebels should immediately open all ports to allow in food and other essentials.

Jamie McGoldrick says seven million Yemenis are already enduring what he calls "famine-like conditions".

The Saudi government imposed a tightened land, sea and air blockade on Yemen after Houthi forces fired a missile at the Saudi capital Riyadh.
