Zimbabwe crisis: Defiant Mugabe refuses to resign

A much-anticipated speech by Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe left a lot of people disappointed when he didn’t announce his resignation.

Mugabe did hint that he intended to stay in power for the coming weeks, announcing his plans to preside over the upcoming ZANU-PF congress.

The ruling ZANU-PF removed him as their leader on Sunday, but he is still a party member.

The party has given Mugabe a deadline to step down as president, and if he doesn’t, they will seek to impeach him.
